Thanks Doctor Ellen! Yes I'd say the aroma profile is a mild/delicate/floral essence of anise. But it doesn't come through in the flavor.

Loved this! Olive oil with ice cream is one of my favorite treats, seemingly simple to make but extremely hard to find at ice cream shops/parlors.

Thanks Bernardette! Yes I have some friends who think mixing the evoo with ice cream is the strangest thing. Then they taste and the reaction on their face is priceless hahah. I guess the lesson is never knock it before you've tried it!

I used to totally fangirl over Ottolenghi's recipes (actually, I still do...), and Kalyustan's was the only place I could find zeresh (barberries) and black garlic. I'd stock up every time I went to NYC to visit my fam!
